Requirements

  • Prior food service experience required.
  • Knowledge of inventory management.
  • Basic knowledge of computers required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-8 years of food service and/or shipping/receiving experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Procedures preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of perpetual inventory control, shipping, receiving and storage preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Placing daily orders to 6-8 vendors and conducting daily inventory on said items (Bakery, Dairy, Produce, Coke, Pepsi, Edward Don, Hubert, etc.)
  • Implementing the Pull Sheet system, working closely with the Executive Chef to pull all products from the freezer in accordance with recipe requirements days before for every cook.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the receiving/distribution area of nutritional services.
  • Identifying damaged goods and assessing quality and condition.
  • Receiving and documenting/verifying all food & beverage orders, including small equipment orders, on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring proper rotation of all products using FIFO (first in, first out).
  • Recording temperatures in the storeroom, including the walk-in refrigerator and freezer.
  • Sweeping and mopping all floors, under racks, and corridors in front of the storeroom on a daily basis.
  • Assembling all requests for floor stock/requisitions to be delivered and/or picked up by courier to all external buildings.
  • Taking temperatures of food deliveries.
  • Participating in monthly departmental inventory.
  • Maintaining efficiency and safety throughout the area.
  • Identifying dead stock (expired stock).
