About The Position

This position is responsible for serving as a lead worker to employees working in the Thrift Store, assisting store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items. The Lead Store Clerk trains employees in the proper procedures for operating and maintaining a cash register, monitors employees' work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness, maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store displays, and ensures the security of store items and the cash register.

Requirements

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• One year progressively responsible experience working in a retail store.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Ability to perform routine mathematical computations and count change.
• Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting or operating a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support Store Clerks and volunteers.
• Operate and oversee cash register transactions and cash handling procedures.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandise displays.
• Provide customer service for shoppers and donation donors.
• Assist with store operations including opening/closing procedures and inventory rotation.
