This position is responsible for organizing cleaning chemicals and supplies, maintaining the supply rack with essential items like pots, pans, and utensils, and rotating stock by moving items from storage into the kitchen. The role involves completing cleaning checklists to establish appropriate cleaning and sanitizing timelines, collecting and transporting dirty pans from the cooking line to the pot station for cleaning, and maintaining sanitation areas. Additionally, the Lead Steward will clean the dish room's ceiling, walls, and vents, ensure clean wares are stored correctly, and operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as the dishwashing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor. This role also includes assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model, and adhering to all company policies and procedures. The Lead Steward must report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, complete safety training, maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets, communicate clearly, develop positive working relationships, and ensure adherence to quality standards. Physical requirements include moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Other reasonable duties may be requested by supervisors.
