The Lead Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the sterility and availability of instruments and supplies for patient care. This position involves collecting, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and dispersing instrument trays and supplies. The Lead Technician also performs daily tests on sterilizers, documents results, and leads interdisciplinary collaboration. They champion high reliability tools, assist with staffing coordination, and facilitate staff development in process improvement. This role partners with sterile processing leadership to achieve key performance indicators and takes action to improve processes, reduce ineffectiveness, and control costs.
