About The Position

Maintains shift accountability for the provision of Nutrition Services in a cost effective/efficient manner. Monitors the delivery of high quality food and nutritional services to Corewell Health patients, employees and visitors. May make decisions of a non-routine nature to provide solutions for persistent departmental concerns. Responsible for production of a wide variety of intricate beverage recipes from a complex combination of ingredients, according to standardized recipes. Work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment. Use of specialized kitchen equipment. Able to identify ingredients/finished products that do not meet established quality standards. Maintain safety and sanitation standards of the work area. Create an excellent experience for the customer. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of relevant food service experience, preferably in health care setting or related field
  • CRT-ServSafe Manager - NRA National Restaurant Association 90 days
  • CRT-ServSafe Allergen - NRA National Restaurant Association 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree Hospitality or Nutrition
  • 1 year of relevant leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shift accountability for the provision of Nutrition Services in a cost effective/efficient manner.
  • Monitor the delivery of high quality food and nutritional services to Corewell Health patients, employees and visitors.
  • Make decisions of a non-routine nature to provide solutions for persistent departmental concerns.
  • Produce a wide variety of intricate beverage recipes from a complex combination of ingredients, according to standardized recipes.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.
  • Use of specialized kitchen equipment.
  • Identify ingredients/finished products that do not meet established quality standards.
  • Maintain safety and sanitation standards of the work area.
  • Create an excellent experience for the customer.
  • Teach and maintain correct sanitation and personal hygiene procedures throughout assigned areas, e.g., following proper dress code.
  • Complete assigned quality assurance monitors.
  • Apply reasonable judgment to the interpretation of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Oversee day-end cash out and daily deposits.
  • Make cash register program changes, when applicable.
  • Ensure proper preparation and services meals.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items as required, labeling and dating items per standard.
  • Train new staff.
  • Lead new hire department orientation or perform other technical tasks within the designated area of responsibility.
