About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Mongo DBA with deep expertise in designing and operating large scale, highly available database platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience managing Oracle databases in active-active architectures, supporting millions of requests per day, and designing resilient data models that prevent conflicts and enable horizontal scale. This role requires strong technical leadership, architectural judgment, and the ability to operate within regulated enterprise environments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience, including administration of mission critical enterprise systems

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle active-active architectures, including deep knowledge of replication technologies such as SharePlex
  • Proven experience designing conflict free data models for active-active systems, including key generation, write routing, and ownership strategies
  • Extensive experience supporting very high transaction volumes
  • Strong expertise in Oracle performance tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and execution plan optimization
  • Deep understanding of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, replication lag management, and failure recovery
  • Experience creating and managing complex views and schemas for analytics and operational workloads
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, change management, and production release controls
  • In depth knowledge and extensive experience in performing back and recovery for DB in terabytes
  • Ability to design enterprise scale data architectures that support both OLTP and downstream analytical use cases
  • Expert level understanding of active conflict resolution patterns, including detection, remediation, and prevention at the data model level
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly for replication conflicts, data skew, and performance bottlenecks
  • Experience partnering with application teams to influence data access patterns and reduce contention
  • Familiarity with hybrid and distributed data platforms, including integration with NoSQL or streaming technologies
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization, including the ability to explain complex database behavior in simple terms
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor other DBAs and engineers
  • Strong relationship management skills that drive alignment across engineering, operations, and risk teams

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex Oracle database architectures, including active-active implementations using technologies such as SharePlex or equivalent replication frameworks
  • Design highly scalable data models that support high volume daily transactions, ensuring correctness, performance, and conflict avoidance
  • Create and optimize enterprise grade views and schemas to support downstream consumption with minimal latency and maximum reuse
  • Define data modeling standards and patterns for active- active Oracle environments, including key design strategies to prevent write conflicts
  • Lead the implementation of multi region active- active Oracle deployments, ensuring data consistency, availability, and fault tolerance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve replication conflicts, data divergence, and latency issues with a deep understanding of Oracle internals and replication behavior
  • Perform advanced performance tuning, capacity forecasting, and workload optimization for high throughput systems
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex database and replication issues across production, DR, and migration scenarios
  • Partner with application, infrastructure, and platform teams to align database architecture with business and resiliency goals
  • Ensure database solutions meet security, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements
