About The Position

As a Lead Specialist on the Crisis Support team, you will leverage strong operational expertise in incident intake, triage, reporting, and stakeholder communication. This role involves mentoring peers and setting standards for excellence in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. The Walmart Emergency Operations Center (EOC) operates continuously, serving as the central hub for incident intake and reporting across field operations. The team handles a broad spectrum of events, including infrastructure issues, criminal activity, and weather-related impacts that could affect associates, business operations, and communities. This is an in-office position with a rotating schedule, with shifts changing every four months, to ensure continuous 24/7/365 coverage.

  • 1+ year of experience in corporate security, emergency management, law enforcement, or a related field
  • Demonstrated leadership or informal leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Emergency Management, Risk Management, Security, or related field OR 2 years’ experience in security, emergency management, risk management, law enforcement, fire service, or related area

Responsibilities

  • Intake and triage incidents reported by facilities, ensuring accurate documentation, timely escalation, and clear communication to stakeholders
  • Translate incoming information into concise, actionable updates to support coordinated response efforts
  • Maintain and uphold department standards for response metrics and service expectations, serving as a quality benchmark for the team
  • Support incident management efforts by identifying key details, trends, and potential operational impacts
  • Coordinate information requests from internal partners such as Legal, Human Resources, and other cross-functional teams
  • Model and reinforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and Walmart’s standards of ethics and integrity
  • Support implementation of new processes and tools through testing, feedback, and quality assurance
