Responsible for collecting, processing, and testing patient specimens for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This role involves performing routine waived, moderately, and high complex testing, collecting and processing various biological specimens, and evaluating and solving problems related to specimen collection and processing. The position also includes maintaining laboratory equipment, stocking supplies, performing complex laboratory procedures, analyzing quality control data, and assisting with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting. Additionally, the role involves participating in training programs, comparison studies, and validation of new equipment, ensuring proper quality control measures, serving as a mentor to junior MLTs, assisting in procedure writing and revision, collaborating with MLS staff, overseeing MLTs and daily testing workflows, training and mentoring new coworkers, assisting in maintaining accreditation and compliance documentation, managing laboratory inventory, and completing required continuing education annually.
