About The Position

The Lead Sorter assists with receiving freight, breaking down pallets, scanning and sorting boxes by driver route, loading vehicles, and directing traffic within the facility. The position reports to the Delivery Station Supervisor and is responsible for completing sort activities safely during the shift. Occasionally, the Lead Sorter provides on-shift leadership by overseeing package-sort operations and coordinating the on-site team across hub activities, including unloading, sorting, and allocating freight for drivers. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 12:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Requirements

• Comfort using computers and scanning devices.
• Team-oriented and safety-focused approach.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to use hands to move packages and operate electronic devices.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical work involving standing, walking, crouching, pulling, and pushing.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, and lift for a minimum of 10 to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Comfort operating a manual and electric pallet jack; training will be provided.
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions, and use simple math.
• Must be at least 22 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, and possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Must pass pre-employment screens, including drug, motor vehicle record, background, and criminal checks.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision and peripheral vision.
• Basic proficiency in manipulating data and reporting.
• Ability to meet schedules and timelines and organize one's own work.
• Ability to reliably work alternative and flexible schedules, including nights, Sundays, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience or ability using scanning devices and basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to safely receive and sort all volume for the shift.
• Ensure incoming volume is directed to the correct destination on time.
• Communicate delays or issues to the Sort Supervisor.
• Attend pre-sort meetings and work toward daily goals and safe operations.
• Perform the TSR process to ensure trailers are safely docked to the building.
• Contribute to safety, productivity, cost, quality, and on-time delivery results.
• Use internal technology and systems to conduct operations.
• Assist in warehouse areas as needed.
• Enforce and follow all safety, GMP, and SQF policies and procedures.
• Meet productivity targets and maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Occasionally coordinate Warehouse Associates, use HelloFresh technology and systems to make operational decisions, promote a safety culture, and help secure hub facilities, vehicles, and inventory.
• Occasionally perform dispatching functions for drivers.
