About The Position

The Lead Solution Architect serves as the senior technical authority for an enterprise Supply Chain Risk Management platform and is responsible for overall technical architecture, engineering execution, infrastructure, tooling, and implementation quality across the program. Working in close partnership with the Product Manager, this role translates product vision, mission needs, and customer intent into technically sound, scalable, and secure solutions, and serves as the principal technical counterbalance on feasibility, sequencing, implementation tradeoffs, and engineering rigor. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, applied mathematics, operations research, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical leadership, or platform delivery for complex mission or enterprise systems
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering production applications in government, defense, or other highly regulated environments
  • Working technical knowledge and demonstrated ability to lead teams across three primary domains: data engineering and operations, modeling and simulation, and full-stack application development
  • Experience leading balanced agile teams and applying modern delivery practices to break down work, manage dependencies, and drive execution, even if not serving in a formal Scrum Master role
  • Demonstrated ability to translate mission or business needs into technical architecture, implementation plans, engineering roadmaps, and actionable team backlogs
  • Experience with enterprise application architecture, APIs, data integration, cloud or hybrid infrastructure, and modern DevSecOps-enabled delivery practices
  • Technical familiarity with industry-leading tools, frameworks, and best practices used to build modern enterprise platforms, including front-end development, data platforms, cloud-managed services, user experience tooling, and CI/CD or deployment pipelines
  • Experience designing systems that support access controls, governance, and operation across multiple security domains or classification boundaries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to explain technical concepts, tradeoffs, and risks to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders
  • Active DoD Top Secret Security Clearance (SCI-eligible)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting defense, federal, or national security missions related to logistics, sustainment, supply chain risk, industrial base, or enterprise data platforms
  • Experience working within OSD, Service component program offices, Major Defense Acquisition Programs, or similarly complex mission organizations
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation, decision-support systems, or data-rich mission applications in classified and unclassified environments
  • Experience with industry-standard data integration and infrastructure tools (e.g., AWS, Databricks, Apache Airflow, etc.)
  • Experience leading teams using modern full-stack, data engineering, and cloud-based technology ecosystems, including tools commonly used for enterprise web applications, platform services, analytics, and human-centered design
  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent advanced professional experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead and lead solution architect for the platform across data engineering and operations, modeling and simulation, and full-stack application development
  • Define and maintain the target technical architecture, including application, data, integration, security, and environment strategy
  • Translate product direction, customer needs, and mission requirements into executable technical designs, implementation plans, and engineering priorities
  • Lead comprehensive multi-day Quarterly PI Planning events to ensure alignment among team members and clients on product features, capabilities, and requirements
  • Collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to drive consensus on the Product Roadmap and strategic priorities
  • Break down product vision into implementable work packages, epics, features, and technical tasks that can be delivered by balanced product teams
  • Guide engineering teams through agile delivery by helping structure work, resolve blockers, sequence dependencies, and maintain momentum toward release objectives
  • Provide technical feasibility assessments, implementation tradeoff recommendations, and architecture decision support to the Program Manager and Product Manager
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, development practices, and quality controls across software, data, and platform delivery teams
  • Oversee solution design for data pipelines, APIs, dashboards, web applications, modeling and simulation capabilities, and other supporting platform services
  • Guide the design and implementation of modern, scalable technology stacks using industry-standard tools, frameworks, managed services, and engineering best practices
  • Deliver engaging and effective client demonstrations, both virtually and in-person, across multiple environments (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS) in response to client requests, ensuring tailored presentations that meet diverse operational needs
  • Lead technical planning and coordination across cross-functional teams spanning software engineering, data engineering, UX, DevSecOps, and mission integration support
  • Ensure the platform is designed and deployed in a manner that supports security, governance, role-based access, and operation across multiple environments and classification domains
  • Drive technical integration of new data sources, customer-specific requirements, and evolving platform capabilities while minimizing technical debt and preserving long-term scalability
  • Support production releases, system demonstrations, deployment validation, and technical readiness for operational use
  • Mentor technical staff and provide leadership on architecture, implementation patterns, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
