About The Position

The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions to solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. This role involves all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design, documenting specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. The engineer will also identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues, participate actively in code reviews to ensure alignment with architectural specifications, and assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information flows. Additionally, the role requires participation in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study.
  • 6 years of experience in the job offered or as Lead Software Engineer, Software Engineer/Developer, Technology Specialist, Associate (IT), IT Consultant, or related occupation.
  • Five (5) years of experience developing software to integrate with equity and mutual funds trading platforms using Java, J2EE, Spring and Hibernate.
  • Three (3) years of experience building fault-tolerant interfaces between internal and external systems using Java, Spring, XML, JSON, Apache Kafka, Apache Camel, IBM MQ, and REST APIs.
  • Three (3) years of experience developing application data models to meet business requirements using Oracle SQL.
  • Any amount of experience tuning Apache Tomcat application deployment servers for better scalability and performance.
  • Any amount of experience using build and deployment tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Kubernetes and shell scripting to build applications to internal cloud platforms.
  • Any amount of experience writing unit tests using JUnit for automated unit testing, code coverage, and code quality testing.
  • Any amount of experience maintaining code in version control software such as GIT.
  • Any amount of experience automating deployment of software to UAT.
  • Any amount of experience automating deployment of software to PROD after UAT signoff and bug fixes.
  • Any amount of experience utilizing Dynatrace and Splunk logs to find performance issues in application code and troubleshoot issues.
  • Any amount of experience following the Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Any amount of experience working with business analysts and product owners to ensure that the software changes meet business requirements.
