About The Position

ClubLabs is the digital acceleration team for Automobile Club of Southern California, also known as, AAA. We are the team responsible for building intuitive customer experiences across the organization’s insurance, membership, financial, emergency roadside, and travel services. We’re a team of engineers, designers, researchers and product managers within AAA delivering maximum value to our members and business for a smarter future. As our Lead Software Engineer, you will help us develop, test, enhance, and debug various member-facing applications on our website and mobile platforms. We currently have teams working on chatbots, self-service portals, login pages, sales and payment functions, and many other things in between. Your work here has an immediate impact on the ease of use for our 17 million members.

Requirements

• Experience leading software development teams, in a formal Lead Software Engineer role, or informally.
• Ability to give constructive feedback respectfully.
• Ability to describe approach to coaching underperformers, average performers, and high performers.
• Previous experience in full-cycle software engineering - developing a product or feature from conception through design and into production.
• Understanding of cloud computing, serverless architecture, and system design.
• Experience with full-stack front-end and back-end development.
• Comfortable in a hybrid work environment.
• Experience working with an Agile team or understanding of Agile concepts.
• Expect to participate in daily standup meetings.
• Expect to complete stories during weekly iterations.
• Ready to meet frequent deployment deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, enhance, and debug various member-facing applications on our website and mobile platforms.
• Participate in daily standup meetings to review progress, discuss roadblocks, and plan work.
• Work in pairs to complete weekly iterations (stories) pulled from a Kanban board.
• Fix production issues, develop new features, or build new components using Visual Studio, JavaScript, Node.js, React, AWS, .net, or C#.
• Check in with other team members (up to 4) to assist with specific coding issues.
• Coach and mentor team members to help them reach their full potential.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
