About The Position

Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo’s more than 70 million global customers. Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Lead Software Engineer 2 in Charlotte, NC. This role involves designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting for projects and programs. The Lead Software Engineer 2 will drive complex technology initiatives, including those with company-wide impact, and participate in developing standards and best practices for engineering complex, large-scale technology solutions. The role requires reviewing and analyzing complex technology solutions against business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges. Additionally, the position involves assisting in developing standard best practices, influencing technology teams, and collaborating with key technical experts and senior technology teams to resolve complex technical issues. The Lead Software Engineer 2 will also guide projects and mentor new associates. Telecommuting is permitted, but reporting to the Charlotte, NC location weekly is required. Multiple positions are available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related position involving software or application development and engineering experience.
  • 5 years of experience with the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with one of the following databases: Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata, MongoDB, or DB2.
  • Must possess 5 years of experience with at least 6 of the following technical skills: Experience with JAVA/J2EE; Experience with RESTful or SOAP web services; Experience with SAS or SQL; Experience with Agile methodologies; Experience with AngularJS, React JS, or Node JS; Experience with Hibernate; Experience with Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, or Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF); Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools; Experience with Big Data or Hadoop tools: Spark, Hive, Kafka, or Map; Experience with Apache Spark design and development using Scala, Java, Python, or Data Frames with RDD; UI development experience; Experience with Microservices; WebLogic or WebSphere experience; Experience with Apache Tomcat, XML, and HTML5; Experience with Ab Initio; Experience in building integrations with Google Analytics, Tealium Tag Management, or Oracle Maxymiser Web Optimization platforms; Experience with Apache Hadoop ecosystem tools; Experience in Container Orchestration tools: Kubernetes or Docker.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs.
  • Drive complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact.
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines.
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors.
  • Assist in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.
  • Guide projects and serve as a mentor to new associates.
