About The Position

GE Vernova's Asset Performance Management (APM) & Device Management (DvM) portfolio of software and services for Transmission & Distribution requires a Lead Software Delivery Engineer (DE). This role involves overseeing technical project deliveries, acting as the interface between the GE Vernova operation central team and customers, and ensuring software services are delivered on time, within budget, and with high quality, while maintaining strong customer relationships. The position is primarily remote with occasional customer reporting and some in-office requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience/knowledge
5 years experiences in Software delivery management and/or a Delivery Engineer/Manager in Software or asset management projects

Concepts of Asset Management and / or Asset Performance Management (APM)
Concepts of Device Management (DvM) systems and device lifecycle operations
Concepts of ERP, SAP, Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Knowledge of Linux/Kubernetes setups
Knowledge of Cloud concepts and high-level data-center concepts
Excellent Knowledge of Software Deployment, configuration, integration and database interfaces (SQL and/or other), Webservices, ETL, timeseries databases
Good Knowledge of data exchange formats: JSON, XML, CSV, YAML…
Concepts of IoT protocols and webservices: OPC UA/DA, MQTT, Kafka, REST API, gRPC, SNMP, SFTP……
Knowledge of the electrical communication protocols: IEC-101, IEC-104, DNP3, IEC61850, Modbus
Concepts with Operation Technology (OT) is a plus, such as SCADA/EMS systems
Concepts of Geographic Information System (GIS) is a plus
Knowledge of the primary assets of the grid (GIS, Transformer, Bays, Circuit Breakers) is a plus
Knowledge of the secondary assets of the grid (protection relays, bay controllers, gateways, network switches) is a plus
Able to work in multi-cultural/ Multi location teams.
Teamwork oriented
Able to work under matrixial organization.
Communication skills

Responsibilities

Oversee all software deliveries from GEV to the customer/channel partners as agreed during the tender stage.
Serve as the interface between GEV and the customer for all GEV software solutions.
Follow up with all teams, including GEV personnel, channel partners, and customers, to deliver required scopes.
Oversee the on-time delivery, implementation, and quality of all design notes and statements of work prepared by the project's Software team.
Guarantee the review and approval of software, Cloud & Hardware delivery, architecture, and implementations.
Oversee the modeling of assets and grid substations work and the developed software interfaces.
Act as the technical owner/coordinator for the technical execution of APM projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and with the required quality.
Be responsible and accountable for the technical project organization, planning, and resource definition for each project.
Support and perform technical tasks when required, despite being supported by global and regional software engineers/integrators and SMEs.
Support tendering and demonstration of APM to the customer when required.
