About The Position

The Technical Architect will help direct a team of 10-13 off-shore resources, although they may not be the person supervising their day-to-day activities. The Technical Architect is responsible for the on time delivery of software as well as the long-term development and performance of their team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Computer Science
  • 10 + years work experience in similar position or having equivalent kind of skills experience; with history of increasing responsibility or upward progression
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision on assigned functions
  • Process orientation, and ability to analyze and design/build complex processes
  • Experience with key enterprise applications, including ERP and EAM
  • Understanding of system and network architecture, system platforms, system access, database design, SQL queries, and network protocols
  • Insight into how PowerPlan’s products work. This includes having information about its application, function, features, use and support services.
  • Ability to apply industry knowledge in an area of domain specialty. Examples of domains are accounting, tax and budgeting.
  • Excellent, effective communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Project and/or team leadership experience
  • Hands-on experience working on or with capital projects, capital budgets and fixed asset accounting, or business tax software
  • Experience running and delivering enterprise level software applications/solutions, including ERP and EAM

Responsibilities

  • Successfully create technical designs from business requirements.
  • Produce technical designs and collaborate with team to meet business objectives.
  • Look at the business requirements and design a technical solutions, data models and data architecture to support the requirements.
  • Create a detailed design to enable off-shore development adoption.
  • Enable the Developers and QA team with the appropriate tools.
  • Clearly identify and execute on the vision which matches the outlined design.
  • Conduct a design signoff session with the team to ensure a productive work environment which includes key documentation, tools to do the job, were to document, what to test and where to test.
  • Establish milestones, estimates and timelines.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Managers to identify and establish risk or issues that may arise from the design of the business requirements.
  • Communicate delays or anticipated roadblocks that may impact the design and determine an agreeable solution.
