About The Position

This role reports to the Advanced Power Systems directorate within Honeywell Aerospace Advanced and Applied Technology. As a Lead Software and Electrical Systems Engineer, you will work closely with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to lead the development of high-performance power electronics and control systems for advanced turbine engine power systems, hybrid turbogenerator power systems, and advanced alternative power systems such as fuel cell and hybrid battery systems. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting power electronics control systems from requirements and architecture definition to electronics board, power conversion, and component design, embedded system software design and code development, and power electronics system assembly and validation in relevant system test environments. The ideal candidate is results-oriented and resourceful, has a pragmatic and hands-on approach to problem solving and risk management, has excellent written, verbal communications and team development skills, and has the confidence to drive and direct rapid-prototyping development programs. You will be leading and developing embedded software and controls from the hardware to the applications layer for the development of power system engineering prototypes, and as such a thorough understanding of pragmatic system requirements definition, digital microprocessors, peripheral, communications, and analog/digital conversion electronics is imperative. Comfort with user interface design and development of user applications and utilities in Java, Python, C and C++ or other platform-independent environments is a big plus.
