About The Position

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Lead Site Service Technician, based out of Spring Hill, TN. This role involves performing onsite maintenance of mobile equipment, including analysis and inspection of GM-owned equipment located in Spring Hill, TN, to meet the expectations of end users. The Lead Site Service Technician will also serve as a mentor to other technicians, delegate assignments, and be able to cover other shifts when needed. This position is crucial for ensuring the maintenance program meets performance, reliability, durability, and operational characteristics required by the customer, and involves system monitoring, failure reporting, and corrective-action duties to improve productivity and acceptance of the mobile equipment fleet. Enhancing customer satisfaction by ensuring optimal performance of the fleet and supporting the service provider during maintenance and repair are key aspects of this role. The technician will identify issues, suggest improvements, and repair trucks to customer satisfaction during onsite repairs, perform physical inspections of the fleet every two weeks, process all paperwork in a timely manner, and escalate safety concerns immediately. Adherence to all GM/UAW safety and environmental rules and regulations is mandatory, as is ensuring the daily work schedule is delivered on time, in full, and in a quality manner by the assigned shift. Monitoring the preventive maintenance schedule for the assigned shift to ensure completion per GM specifications is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrable understanding of mechanical and electrical (AC and DC) troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced mechanical skills, including the ability to read electrical diagrams and work with hydraulic systems to support daily maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex and novel issues while supporting team development.
  • Leadership and coaching skills to guide employees effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team environments and independently.
  • General computer knowledge required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods to perform required work.
  • Ability to maneuver in physically demanding environments.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions (hot and cold extremes) with appropriate provisions.
  • Must supply hand tools sufficient to perform maintenance and services.
  • Must be willing to work various shifts as assigned.
  • On occasion, the roles requires working on holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite maintenance of mobile equipment, including analysis and inspection of GM-owned equipment.

  • Identify issues, suggest improvements, and repair trucks to customer satisfaction during onsite repairs.
  • Perform physical inspections of the complete fleet every two weeks, as signed by the Saturn Manager.
  • Process all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Escalate any safety concerns immediately to management.
  • Follow all GM/UAW safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Ensure all employees on an assigned shift deliver the daily work schedule on time, in full, and in a quality manner.
  • Monitor the preventive maintenance schedule for the assigned shift to ensure completion on time and in full per GM specifications.
