Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Java, GCP & Data Engineering
About The Position
Lead Site Reliability Engineer role focused on Site Reliability Engineering, Java application support and development, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Data Engineering. The successful candidate will lead SRE initiatives and a Scrum team, helping deliver a bug-free product within the specified timeframe. They will ensure application reliability, scalability, and performance, and support incident management, production operations, and automation. The role calls for expertise in Java-based applications, cloud-native GCP architectures, monitoring and observability tools, CI/CD pipelines, and big data technologies. The SRE Lead will drive operational excellence and reliability best practices, collaborate with development and data engineering teams, and help ensure high availability and resilience of business-critical systems. Business stakeholder communication is essential, including interaction with client VPs and business partners as the technical lead. The work location is Phoenix, Arizona (85054), with a hybrid arrangement. Interviews are conducted by video call.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of experience.
- Strong Site Reliability Engineering expertise.
- Java is required, including experience supporting or developing Java applications.
- Good understanding of Data Engineering.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience, including cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and big data technologies.
- Ability to lead a Scrum team.
- Strong business stakeholder communication skills.
