About The Position
JC Pallet is searching for a talented Mechanic to join their team at the Bladenboro, NC facility. The Mechanic position will perform regular full-facility preventative maintenance, including maintaining the roadworthiness of the fleet of dry van trailers by changing tires, hubs, brakes, and airbags, and performing routine maintenance and annual inspections. The role also involves repairing all malfunctioning equipment and machinery, with diesel knowledge being a requirement. This position will serve as the lead mechanic for the facility, responsible for overseeing maintenance activities, supporting equipment reliability initiatives, and providing leadership and direction to maintenance personnel.
Requirements
- Diesel knowledge is a requirement.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working at heights and performing elevated maintenance tasks.
- Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required.
- Must be able to work on tractor trailers.
- Must be able to work on heavy machinery.
- Must be able to work on bandsaws, chop saws, and manual feed saws.
- Must be able to perform routine service of tractor, service truck and any other equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Electrical Experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs/installations utilizing a wide range of tools including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding machines.
- Maintain upkeep of all equipment on site.
- Change tires, light work, adjust and change brakes, wheel seal, trouble shoot air systems, replace landing gears with knowledge of welding.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
- Perform work on tractor trailers: change trailer tires, change brakes, change out airbags, diagnose light issues, repair holes in trailer floors, and perform landing gear repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance and diagnose issues on heavy machinery such as front-end loaders and bulldozers.
- Perform maintenance on equipment including bandsaws, chop saws, and manual feed saws, including changing out bearings and diagnosing issues.
- Perform routine service of tractors, service trucks, and any other equipment.
