About The Position

The Lead Shipping and Receiving Agent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all daily shipping and receiving activities t oensure accurate, timely, and efficient movement of materials, supplies, and products. This position provides leadership to the shipping/receiving team, maintains inventory accuracy, ensures compliance with company procedures, and supports department goals through strong communication and organization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED, required; additional logistics or warehouse training a plus.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage completing priorities.
  • Proficient with inventory management systems and basic computer applications (such as Excel, Shipping Software).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written

  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and actively participate in daily shipping and receiving operations, including unloading, inspecting, verifying, and storing incoming shipments.
  • Ensure all outgoing shipments are accurately packaged, labeled, documented, and dispatched on schedule.
  • Lead, train, and support shipping and receiving team members; provide guidance, coaching, and daily task assignments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records; perform cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with purchasing and other departments to ensure proper supply flow.
  • Ensure all materials are safely and properly handled, stored, and distributed according to company policies.
  • Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve delivery issues or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping documents, logs, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and assist management in implementing more efficient workflows.
  • Operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling tools (training provided if needed).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact in the supervisor’s absence.
