Lead Shelter Support Staff

Help Create Stability, Safety, and Hope for Individuals and Families Experiencing Homelessness. We’re looking for a strong, dependable, and people-focused Lead Shelter Support Staff team member to help guide day-to-day shelter operations while supporting clients during some of the most important moments of their lives. This is more than a shelter role. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Intermediate computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and data entry
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days
- Ability to obtain Narcan training within 90 days
- Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or poverty
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Responsibilities
- Support and assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming shelter environment
- Serve as a mentor and resource for Shelter Support Staff
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members
- Help coordinate shelter operations, occupancy tracking, unit turnover, and inventory processes
- Support documentation accuracy and HMIS workflows
- De-escalate conflict and respond calmly during crisis situations
- Conduct shelter walkthroughs and identify operational or safety concerns
- Communicate important updates across shifts and departments
- Step in wherever needed to support shelter operations and client care
