About The Position

This role involves completing home safety evaluations and patient/caregiver education related to ordered equipment and supplies. The position requires performing equipment setup, orientation, and demonstration of safe operation and use of HME. Additionally, the role includes assisting with general warehouse duties, ensuring courteous and efficient service, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The Lead, Service Tech will also deliver and set up DME equipment, instruct patients on its use, and manage the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies. Responsibilities extend to cleaning and function testing equipment, assisting with warehouse inventory, and ensuring routine vehicle maintenance. This leadership role also involves assisting with hiring, coaching, performance appraisals, and disciplining subordinate staff, as well as the daily supervision of departmental staff.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Must have a working knowledge of the delivery service area and route planning
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and rotate on-call responsibilities
  • Must have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Should have knowledge of Word Processing Software and ability to use mobile devices such as a smart phone

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred
  • Previous delivery and/or warehouse experience preferred
  • Familiar with safe handling and transport of compressed medical gas

Responsibilities

  • Completes appropriate home safety evaluation and patient/caregiver education related to ordered equipment and supplies
  • Performs equipment setup, orientation, and demonstration of the safe operation and use of HME
  • Assists in general warehouse duties such as stocking, rotating inventory, receiving, shipping, and processing equipment and supplies
  • Ensures courteous and efficient service is provided daily to patient base and referral sources
  • Ensures proper regulatory compliance is maintained as it pertains to FDA, ACHC, DOT, and HIPPA
  • Delivers and sets up DME equipment and instructs patients on the basic use
  • Loads and unloads DME equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto delivery truck and ensures it's properly secured and organized
  • Cleans and function tests all incoming dirty equipment as needed and assists with ordering and stocking of warehouse equipment and supplies
  • Ensures all routine vehicle maintenance is scheduled and performed as outlined by DOT Polices
  • Assists with hiring, coaching, performance appraisals, and disciplining of subordinate staff
  • Assists with daily supervision of departmental staff
