JORY is the signature restaurant at The Allison Inn & Spa, a luxury resort in Oregon wine country. Our creative fine dining menus accentuate the flavors of the Willamette Valley with a strong influence on seasonal, garden-to-table agriculture. The JORY Server will provide exceptional, personalized service by consulting on menu selections, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a gracious, attentive, and memorable dining experience. In addition to Server duties, the Lead Server will assist Managers and Maitre d’ in training new hires and existing team members, communicate policy and system changes, monitor the service team’s completion of sidework, perform restaurant opening and closing duties, ensure service team compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards, collaborate with management in team building and coaching, be present on the restaurant floor when guests are seated, enforce regulations for a valid Food Handler's Card and OLCC permit, and possess thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.

Requirements

  • Three years of restaurant service experience, including at least one year as a Server at The Allison Inn & Spa.
  • Expert level knowledge of food and beverage with familiarity with Willamette Valley wine.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • An enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Minimum availability of four (4) days per week to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays.
  • Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, weekends, holidays, and blackout days.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation.
  • Must have current Oregon Food Handlers permit.
  • Must have current OLCC permit, prior to first shift.
  • Adhere to The Allison Inn & Spa grooming and appearance standards, or ability to adjust appearance accordingly.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional, personalized service to guests by consulting on menu selections, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a gracious, attentive, and memorable dining experience.
  • Maintain menu, ingredient, and preparation knowledge to confidently answer questions and provide tailored recommendations.
  • Use suggestive selling and upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue.
  • Be skilled in food and beverage pairing.
  • Understand common food allergies and dietary requirements.
  • Monitor intoxication levels throughout restaurant and lounge and comply with all alcohol service regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with front desk and restaurant managers for guests’ needs and comments.
  • Complete daily side-work, stocking lists, and cleaning duties.
  • Keep a neat, groomed, professional appearance as per The Allison guidelines; be in a proper, clean, well-maintained uniform at all times.
  • Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per Jory and Oregon state health guidelines.
  • Follow service guidelines through the complete meal service.
  • Assist Managers and Maitre d’ in training new hires and in the ongoing training of existing team members.
  • Communication to the Server Team of policy and system changes, menus and ingredient information.
  • Monitor the service team’s completion of sidework; ensure sidework lists are kept up to date and communicate with managers when changes are needed.
  • Perform restaurant opening and closing duties.
  • Ensures service team compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Collaborates with management in team building and coaching of service team individuals.
  • Be present on the restaurant floor when guests are seated.
  • Enforce regulations required to hold a valid Food Handlers Card.
  • Enforce regulations required to hold a valid OLCC permit.
