About The Position

This role involves performing all core wait staff duties while also providing day-to-day leadership and support to the dining service team. The Lead Server helps ensure smooth meal service, models service standards, and serves as a resource for teammates, especially when a manager or supervisor is not present. Requirements

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Clear, respectful communication with residents, guests, and team members.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow through.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and service standards.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a restaurant or dining service setting.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience mentoring, training, or informally leading peers preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an Exceptional Dining Experience: Perform all core Server duties, delivering courteous, timely, and accurate meal service.
  • Support residents with menu selections, preferences, and dietary considerations.
  • Monitor dining room flow, service pace, and presentation to ensure consistency.
  • Build familiarity with resident names and preferences to create a personalized experience.
  • Provide Team Support & Leadership: Serve as a visible, supportive resource for Servers during assigned shifts.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and informal leadership in the absence of management.
  • Train and orient new team members on service standards and procedures.
  • Model professionalism, teamwork, and positive morale.
  • Assist with real-time problem solving during busy service periods.
  • Support Operations, Safety & Quality: Open and close the dining room when management coverage is not available.
  • Ensure side work, server tasks, and closing duties are completed accurately.
  • Monitor cleanliness, staff readiness, and dining room setup.
  • Adhere to and model food safety, sanitation, allergen, and infection control standards.
  • Support catering functions as needed and escalate concerns appropriately.
