About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Lead Security Technician to join a leading global technology solutions provider in Tempe, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on physical security professional with strong experience installing, servicing and troubleshooting commercial CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and intercom systems. In addition to performing field installation and service work, the Lead Security Technician will help coordinate the daily activities of installation and service technicians, support project planning and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to high quality standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant physical security/low-voltage experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Hands-on experience installing commercial CCTV/security cameras, card access panels and digital recording systems.
  • Strong experience with low-voltage wiring and cabling.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing access control and CCTV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage applications and physical security products.
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN environments, TCP/IP, cabling standards and network components.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft/Windows Active Directory, switches and networking.
  • Ability to read technical documentation, system drawings and electrical blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting and electronic testing skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair commercial physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and intercom systems.
  • Schedule and perform field installation and service work.
  • Coordinate and help oversee the daily activities of field installation and service technicians.
  • Assist with manpower planning and project scheduling.
  • Troubleshoot and repair card access and CCTV systems, including tracing and replacing wiring and equipment.
  • Install and work with low-voltage cabling and standard cable media.
  • Read and interpret technical documentation, system drawings and electrical blueprints.
  • Support project research and responses to RFPs, RFQs, RFBs and RFIs.
  • Assist with project budgets, resource planning and anticipated growth needs.
  • Help maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles and other field assets.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable safety requirements and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism while working at customer sites.
