About The Position

As a Lead Security Installation Technician, you will be responsible for managing the installation of technology integration systems. We are looking for a talented technician to skillfully run wire, furnish and install technology devices, and work with lead installers to manage the day-to-day onsite scope of work to help successfully drive projects to completion. An effective Installation Technician manages communication between the design team, project management team, lead installer, and other trades to deliver high-quality projects leading to repeat business.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Security Technician or similar role, with experience one or more of the following areas: Networks, Control systems, Intercom Systems, Surveillance Systems (Salient Systems, Avigilon Systems, or similar surveillance systems.), Security Systems (DMP, ELK, Bosch or similar systems. ), Access Control Systems (Genea, Openpath, Lenel OnGuard, or similar systems)
  • Ability to work with a team and communicate effectively with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Log project hours and complete work orders in company systems.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately install intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and intercom systems according to project drawings, manufacturer instructions, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 72).
  • Test and commission all systems to ensure full functionality and compliance with scope of work. Ensure end-user satisfaction through quality workmanship and professional conduct.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electronic security systems with minimal downtime. Keep detailed service records and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Complete installations and service calls efficiently while minimizing material waste, overtime, and rework.
  • Utilize and maintain field software (time entry, task entry, project status, drawing annotations, pictures, etc.).
  • Follow all company, site, and industry safety protocols. Conduct risk assessments before beginning work and report any hazards immediately.
  • Act as a knowledgeable and approachable point of contact during service calls and installations. Clearly explain system functions and resolve client concerns on-site.
  • Complete all job documentation, including daily reports, redlines, time sheets, and as-built drawings, accurately and on time.
  • Work effectively with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians to ensure smooth execution of all phases of a project.
  • Recognize opportunities to enhance system performance or customer experience and relay them to the appropriate team members or supervisors.
