About The Position

The Lead Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of guests, employees, and property while providing leadership and direction to Security Officers on shift. This role combines active patrol, incident response, and policy enforcement with supervisory support, training, and operational coordination. The Lead Officer serves as a key point of contact during shifts, assisting with decision-making, incident escalation, and adherence to company standards. This position plays a critical role in life safety, emergency response, loss prevention, and guest service within the hotel and casino environment. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of security experience required
  • Must be fluent in English and capable of communicating clearly with guests and team members
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and direct team members in emergency and high-pressure situations
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in basic computer systems and incident reporting software
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
  • Valid Nevada Gaming License
  • Valid Nevada Driver’s License
  • Current Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM Card)

Nice To Haves

  • some college coursework in criminal justice, hospitality, or a related field preferred
  • prior leadership, supervisory, or senior officer experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Security Officers during assigned shifts
  • Act as the primary point of contact in the absence of Security Supervisors or Managers
  • Respond promptly and effectively to all emergency situations including fire, medical incidents, criminal activity, and other life safety issues
  • Coordinate and direct officer response during incidents to ensure effective and safe resolution
  • Conduct regular patrols throughout the property to monitor for hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations
  • Ensure officers maintain high visibility and professionalism while on duty
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback as needed
  • Assist in training new Security Officers and reinforcing department procedures
  • Maintain regular communication with the Manager on Duty (MOD) and Security leadership
  • Ensure proper documentation of all incidents, investigations, and reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Review reports submitted by officers for quality and compliance with standards
  • Enforce property rules, issue trespass notices (with proper approvals), and ensure compliance with gaming laws
  • Assist in loss prevention efforts, investigations, and asset protection
  • Serve as liaison with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and internal departments
  • Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of Lost and Found items
  • Assist in the development and execution of emergency preparedness procedures
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability within the department
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Security leadership
