About The Position

Baptist Health, recognized as a top place to work in healthcare, is seeking a Lead Security Officer to join their Protective Services Department at the Baptist South location. This is a full-time, nights opportunity working 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. The primary role of the Lead Security Officer is to ensure the daily safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees through patrolling and monitoring the medical center properties. The team is implementing new technologies like metal detectors to enhance patient safety and experience. In addition to performing the duties of a Safety and Security Officer, this role involves specialized training in areas such as investigations, security equipment, administration, safety, hazmat, and training. The Lead Security Officer will also be responsible for materials management ordering for the location and will require training to access the supply chain software.

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years Law Enforcement Experience
  • 3-5 Years Security Officer Experience
  • 3-5 Years Military Experience
  • 1-2 years Healthcare Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Driver's License Required
  • Undergo a level II Background screening (fingerprint-based screening for positions of trust that check state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal history) as a condition of employment and continued employment.

  • International Assn for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Supervisor Certification Preferred
