About The Position

The Lead Security Guard assigned to the Albany locations, including Camino Nuevo and Capital District Latinos, is responsible for overseeing daily security operations to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, clients, and visitors. This role supports and directs security personnel, maintains consistent coverage across all posts, and responds promptly to emergencies or incidents within the clinic. The Lead Security Guard works closely with the Security Manager to coordinate staffing, communicate concerns, and uphold security policies and procedures. In the absence of the Security Manager, the Lead Security Guard assumes supervisory responsibilities, making decisions related to coverage and operations. The position also includes assisting with staff training, monitoring activity throughout the facility, and addressing security-related issues as they arise.

Requirements

  • NYS Security Guard License
  • Minimum 5 years law enforcement or military experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
  • Proven experience as security guard or similar position
  • Experience in emergency response planning
  • Ability to train individuals on their job duties
  • 2 years’ experience working in clinic or similar environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical fitness to perform in case of emergencies
  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment
  • Proven commitment and reliability

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to Security Guards during assigned shift, ensuring all posts are consistently staffed and operations run smoothly
  • Maintain continuous coverage by coordinating staff schedules, breaks, lunches, and absences
  • Act as shift supervisor in the absence of the Security Manager, making decisions regarding staffing, coverage, and daily operations
  • Respond to and manage emergencies, incidents, and safety concerns within the facility
  • Conduct routine patrols of all assigned areas to ensure safety, security, and staff support needs are met
  • Monitor, document, and report client violations, complaints, unusual incidents, and special circumstances to the Security Manager
  • Assist in training and onboarding new security staff on post assignments, procedures, and expectations
  • Support the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and post orders
  • Investigate and assist in resolving security-related issues, preparing reports and recommendations as needed
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan and support security operations for special events or high-need situations
  • Foster and maintain a safe, secure, and professional environment for clients, staff, and visitors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
