About The Position

The Lead DevSecOps Solutions Architect serves as the senior technical authority responsible for architecting, designing, implementing, and governing enterprise application solutions supporting large scale federal systems. The individual leads cloud modernization, DevSecOps adoption, AI/ML integration, application security, and enterprise architecture initiatives while ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available solutions within AWS cloud environments.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship Required to obtain a Public Trust
  • Bachelor Degree and min of 10 years of developing projects, DevSecOps, AI/ML and technical architecture
  • 3 years of experience in architecture, design and production of enterprise applications in cloud platforms that use AI/ML, in AWS
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) required
  • Must be local to the DMV area
  • Bachelor Degree+ 10+ years of experience in Information Technology, with demonstrated focus on supporting enterprise software development, DevSecOps, cloud engineering, AI/ML solutions, and technical architecture initiatives
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, and deploying production enterprise applications in AWS using AI/ML capabilities, with proficiency across services including EC2, S3, Aurora, RDS, OpenSearch, EKS, Lambda, Kinesis, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and KMS
  • Demonstrated experience leading DevSecOps initiatives and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Enterprise, Harness, Maven, Gradle, Nexus Repository, NexusIQ, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Liquibase, and Prisma Cloud.
  • Experience designing and supporting containerized and cloud native environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Terraform, Alpine Linux, and Ubuntu.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, JavaScript, Node.js, ReactJS, Hibernate, Apache Tomcat, Jackson, JAXB, and REST based services.
  • Experience implementing enterprise integration and event driven architectures utilizing Apigee, MuleSoft, Kafka, Confluent Kafka, Redis, and API management technologies.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML and advanced analytics initiatives utilizing Databricks, Python, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, NumPy, Spark/Scala, and related machine learning technologies.
  • Experience implementing security controls utilizing Akamai Web Application Firewall, Vault, PKI, OpenSSL, BouncyCastle FIPS, Tenable, and secure software development practices.
  • Experience implementing enterprise monitoring, observability, and operational support solutions utilizing Splunk, Splunk On-Call, New Relic, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Logstash.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead architecture reviews, technology evaluations, modernization initiatives, and cross functional engineering teams supporting large scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, modernization, and deployment of enterprise applications supporting mission critical federal programs.
  • Define and implement enterprise application architecture standards, cloud strategies, DevSecOps frameworks, and software engineering best practices.
  • Lead the design and implementation of secure CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, infrastructure automation, and deployment processes supporting cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Architect cloud native and containerized solutions utilizing AWS services and Kubernetes based platforms to support scalable and highly available applications.
  • Design and oversee implementation of AI/ML enabled solutions and collaborate with data science and engineering teams to operationalize machine learning models and advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Establish application security requirements and integrate automated security testing, vulnerability management, code quality assessments, and compliance controls throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Design and implement enterprise integration and API management solutions supporting interoperability across multiple systems and platforms.
  • Lead technical reviews, architecture assessments, solution evaluations, and modernization planning efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to software engineers, DevSecOps engineers, cloud engineers, architects, and development teams.
  • Collaborate with program leadership, business stakeholders, cybersecurity personnel, infrastructure teams, and external partners to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with federal security requirements including FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and Zero Trust principles.
