About The Position

Hudspeth is seeking experienced and dependable Lead Scaffold Builders to support commercial and industrial construction projects throughout Colorado. This is a working lead position responsible for guiding scaffold crews while actively performing scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling in the field. The Lead Scaffold Builder plays a critical role in maintaining productivity, safety, and quality while serving as the direct link between field crews and the Scaffold Supervisor. Candidates must be comfortable leading by example, working on the tools daily, and maintaining a strong safety-first mindset in demanding construction environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of scaffolding experience
  • Previous experience leading scaffold crews or acting as a lead on projects
  • Strong knowledge of frame scaffolds, rolling scaffolds, and system scaffolds
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification required
  • Fall Protection training required
  • Ability to meet site-specific safety requirements
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, climb, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • Scaffold Erector/User training
  • Experience with engineered scaffold systems and drawings
  • Industrial plant, refinery, or large commercial project experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead scaffold erection, modification, and dismantling activities in the field
  • Perform hands-on scaffold work daily, including assembling and installing scaffold components
  • Direct crew members while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards
  • Install frames, braces, planking, guardrails, access systems, and related scaffold components
  • Read and follow scaffold layouts, drawings, and work instructions
  • Assist with tying scaffolds to structures and ensuring stability and load compliance
  • Monitor crew performance and ensure work is completed correctly and efficiently
  • Communicate daily with the Scaffold Supervisor regarding progress, material needs, and job site concerns
  • Maintain organized staging areas and clean work environments
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and tracking scaffold materials
