About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Lead Saw Operator to join our team! In this role, you will operate advanced component saws to cut lumber according to work orders while helping lead and train a team to meet production goals. Requirements

• 6+ months of machine operation experience required
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and productivity

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of experience in lumber, construction, or related industry preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to identify lumber by species, size, and grade
• Leadership or training experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Review work orders and determine required cuts
• Operate computer-controlled component saws using touch screen systems
• Set up and adjust saws, including speed and feed rolls
• Monitor and guide lumber through the cutting process
• Coordinate workflow including picking, staging, stacking, and loading materials
• Assign tasks and support team members to meet production goals
• Track production output and ensure efficiency
• Train new employees on equipment, assembly processes, and safety procedures
