Lead Sanitation Steward
About The Position
Levy at American Airlines Center is seeking a dependable, motivated, and detail-oriented event-based part-time Lead Steward to join our Sanitation team. In this essential role, you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety throughout our kitchens and food service areas. Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in food service, hospitality, stadium/arena operations, hotels, clubs, or full-service restaurants.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of custodial, janitorial, sanitation, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
- Valid TABC certification (or the ability to obtain one within required timeframe).
- Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certification (or the ability to obtain one within required timeframe).
Responsibilities
- Sweeps and mops floors at appropriate intervals to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Complies with all outlined sanitation and safety requirements.
- Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
- Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans in appropriate and assigned areas.
- Washes dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and other food preparation machines and equipment.
- Operates large electric machines such as dishwashers, sanitizers, trash compactors, and glass crushers.
- Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks, and all other food prep surfaces as assigned.
- Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, observing all safe lifting standards.
- Assists with banquet table and front of the house set up as requested.
- Assist with loading or unloading and delivering supplies and products.
- Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned to support business operations.
