About The Position

This is an appointed position where the Lead Salvage Analyst will assist Supervisors/Managers in performing daily routines. These assignments are intended to help in situations where there is not adequate coverage by a supervisor, yet a full-time supervisor is not warranted. Lead positions must be approved in advance by the General Manager, Operations Manager, and Human Resources Manager. Lead assignments generally do not include external or internal job postings, job descriptions, or other formal selection processes. They are "assigned" positions and may be offered and retracted by the supervisor, at will, based on performance, business conditions, and/or changing needs of the department/plant. Leads are intended to be "working leads" in that they are expected to carry out their normal job title functions with some modifications by their supervisor. The additional responsibilities of the lead are generally defined by the supervisor and typically include championing safety and 6S initiatives, holding the team accountable for following all policies and procedures, prioritizing workflow, answering questions regarding part processing, verifying daily staffing, assigning work to operators, assessing training needs, coordinating training, moving operators to different job assignments, stopping the work of operators if appropriate, auditing the quality and quantity of work performed, providing input to supervisors regarding operator performance, and assuming responsibility of routine operations in a supervisor’s absence. May be required to handle or manage hazardous waste and complete hazardous waste management training. Must be able to handle all processes within the department.
