About The Position

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Retail, the Lead Retail Sales Associate will thrive on driving results. This role involves driving changes through modeling and teaching selling behaviors, assisting in maintaining operational excellence, and driving revenue while being strategic and utilizing critical thinking skills. The Lead Retail Sales Associate will take pride in the enterprise, supporting individually and side by side with the team to ensure a best-in-class experience to guests while offering ongoing feedback to enhance team engagement. Maintaining growth will drive positive performance results and help cultivate a winning team.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience and leadership required.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
  • Ability to meet or exceed sales and guest service standards.
  • Comfortable working and speaking with the public.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under stressful situations.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors, or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, and kneel, and enter, exit, and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows, and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the retail industry preferred.
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Retail Supervisor in overseeing the Retail Associates in achieving department and enterprise goals by leading by example.
  • Works individually and along-side the store team while modeling best in class service; partners and helps oversee the business expectations when the Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Models and improves accurate store operations to optimize productivity and ensure compliance with all policy and procedures, visual merchandising standards, and product flow efficiency to create an elevated guest experience.
  • Responsible for assisting and overseeing Point of Sales transactions and confirming accuracy of all Point of Sales activities.
  • Responsible for closing out registers of the retail staff at the end of each shift.
  • Communicates variance issues and submits discrepancies to accounting in a designated timeframe.
  • Participates in Leader on Duty tasks and helps to ensure all training and deadlines by team and self are met and monitored on time.
  • Conducts or assists in conducting pre-shift huddles to ensure a high level of communication.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
