About The Position

Provides direct service in a GLE/SIE residential setting, helping individuals overcome barriers and prepare for independent living. Implements treatment plan support interventions as guided by a clinician. Assumes administrative officer roles to support the Program Director, liaises with families, and assists individuals in obtaining and understanding medical and psychiatric care. Administers medications according to program policies and procedures, and provides crisis interventions. Responsible for physical site maintenance, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and clean environment.

  • Knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least six months.
  • Must be able to pass a driver's screening background check.
  • CPR required within two weeks of hire.
  • First Aid required within two weeks of hire.
  • MAP required within 150 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in a human service discipline.
  • One year as a residential counselor in a setting working with PS facing mental health challenges.
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field.
  • Bilingual/bicultural applicants.
  • Applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions.
  • If using a personal vehicle, must possess and maintain adequate insurance and maintain a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Program Director in orienting new residents.
  • Collaborates with Integrated Team members to address resident needs and implements treatment plan interventions.
  • Performs day-to-day assignments as directed by the Program Director.
  • Utilizes recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Adheres to safety, maintenance, Human Rights, and other operational policies and procedures.
  • Assumes roles of Medication Officer, Safety Officer, Human Rights Officer as assigned.
  • Schedules and facilitates weekly group meetings with residents, including menu input.
  • Performs primary grocery shopping weekly or as needed.
  • Complies with physical site licensing standards and regulations.
  • Stores, administers, documents, and disposes of resident medication according to program requirements and company policy.
  • Teaches residents medication management.
  • Creates opportunities for residents to participate in the operation of the residence, including meal preparation and site maintenance.
  • Encourages social interaction among residents and fosters a collaborative environment.
  • Serves as a resource for neighbors.
  • Helps residents prepare meals.
  • Acts as an advocate for residents.
  • Participates in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings.
  • Completes all required documentation.
  • Contributes to program quality improvement goals.
  • Helps residents use crisis intervention techniques and accesses on-call backup when needed.
  • Supports the provision of evidence-based practices and best practices to residents.
  • Completes Infection Control Inventory for the residence.
  • Assists the Program Director with organization of surveillance testing of staff and residents.
  • Completes incident documentation as needed.
  • Performs physical site maintenance activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
