Chads Design Build is looking for an experienced Lead Residential Carpenter to help deliver residential remodeling projects throughout the Madison area. Requirements

  • 5+ years of residential remodeling or construction experience
  • Advanced general and finish carpentry skills
  • Strong experience working independently from construction plans and drawings
  • Ability to lead work in the field and guide less experienced carpenters
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Professional communication and a team-first approach
  • Ability to manage priorities and maintain productivity on active remodeling projects
  • Personal hand tools
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading residential remodeling crews or projects
  • Experience across multiple phases of residential construction
  • Experience with light plumbing or electrical work
  • Interest in energy-efficient or sustainable building practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead carpentry work on residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations
  • Perform and oversee framing, finish carpentry, trim, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other detailed construction work
  • Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Coordinate day-to-day field activities with project managers and other team members
  • Help keep projects moving efficiently and identify potential issues before they affect schedules
  • Troubleshoot field challenges and make practical, informed decisions
  • Maintain high standards for craftsmanship, jobsite safety, cleanliness, and organization
  • Mentor and support developing carpenters
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, trade partners, project managers, and coworkers
  • Take ownership of work from initial layout through final details and punch-list completion
