Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily operations of ED Registration, Main Admitting, and Financial Counseling units.
  • Assign and allocate work to ensure tasks are completed on time and to high standards.
  • Mentor and guide team members, troubleshoot issues, and lead by example to ensure seamless operations.
  • Support the preparation and posting of work schedules, and handle staffing requirements to cover sick calls and other departmental needs.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for hiring, transfers, and promotions.
  • Assist with orientation and training for new hires, and find opportunities for ongoing staff development.
  • Track staffing levels and overtime use to guarantee conformity with the department’s budget.
  • Ensure accurate demographic and financial information, verify benefits, document insurance coverage, and acquire necessary authorizations.
  • Collect data to support performance indicators and quality assurance reporting.
  • Monitor patient and billing work queues to maintain quality standards.
  • Complete patient registrations as needed, and assist Financial Counseling by helping with Imaging, Surgery, and Inpatient accounts, including after hours and weekends.
  • Monitor patient wait and registration times to ensure standards are met and patient satisfaction is achieved.
  • Accurately report cash collections from various hospital services.
  • Identify and address customer needs, investigate and follow up on complaints, and serve as a liaison with other units.
  • Carry out supplementary tasks as assigned to assist the department’s objectives.
