About The Position

Unison Health is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to provide high-quality nursing care and behavioral health support to children and adolescents in our inpatient Children's Wellness Center (CWC) program. The Registered Nurse is responsible for conducting health assessments, administering medications and treatments, monitoring clients' physical and behavioral health status, and responding to medical and behavioral health needs in a therapeutic setting. Working as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team, the Registered Nurse supports individualized treatment plans, provides behavioral health interventions, educates clients and families on health and wellness, and helps maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment that promotes stabilization, recovery, and positive outcomes for every child.

Requirements

  • Requires an associate degree in nursing.
  • Required CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Required BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
  • At least one-year clinical experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • This position requires current RN license from the State of Ohio.
  • Must be able to assume call on a rotating basis and work a flexible schedule that will include evenings, weekends and holidays as team maintains 24-hour responsibility for client care.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of mental illness and the ability to establish therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Must be able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile individuals.
  • Must be able to work independently and make independent decisions when situations warrant such action.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous psychiatric experience is preferred.
  • Certification as a psychiatric nurse is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight for nursing services across residential programs
  • Serve as a clinical resource for nurses and direct care staff
  • Promote patient safety and quality improvement indicatives
  • Overseeing medication administration practices and compliance
  • Reviewing medication errors and implementing corrective actions
  • Monitoring controlled substances and medication security
  • Ensuring compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
  • Developing and updating nursing policies and procedures
  • Preparing for audits and inspections
  • Monitoring infection prevention and control practices
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring to nursing staff
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and orientation
  • Conduct competency assessments and skills validation
