About The Position

The Team Leader serves as a clinical leader in the Nursing Department, ensuring that each patient receives quality, individualized care that is proactive and coordinated among the care delivery team, and that patients are attaining their clinical milestones and patient flow. This role is responsible for assisting with the oversight of daily operations of the Nursing Unit and for the development and coordination of activities that promote clinically effective and efficient patient care. The Team Leader plans, organizes, and directs patient care activities under the direction of the nurse manager, collaborates with the nurse manager in maintaining unit operations, supervises assigned personnel, and consults and collaborates with other health care team members to provide safe appropriate patient care.

Requirements

  • Certification in area of specialty within 2 years
  • Maintain BLS, ACLS, and PALs as required based on unit competencies
  • Current RN license in the State of Ohio
  • Minimum of 2 years Professional Nursing experience
  • Ability to analyze clinical, financial and social situations, identifying problems and alternative courses of action
  • Willingness to be flexible, resourceful, and creative in problem solving
  • Ability to act independently and offer suggestions and new ideas for improving performance and operations
  • Ability to guide and direct the health care team to assure optimal outcomes
  • Clinical expertise in specialty area
  • Ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with physicians, patients, families and other members of the interdisciplinary team
  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • BSN preferred, or must be obtained within 5 years
