This is a full-time Lead Registered Nurse position for the Cardiology and Pulmonology Clinic. The role involves overseeing the day-to-day provision of patient care, including staffing, workflow, equipment, and supplies. The Lead RN will assist the supervisor in evaluating and adjusting care, acting as a clinical and department resource, and may provide work direction to other staff. The position focuses on promoting and implementing care management and quality initiatives, establishing quality standards, and monitoring care delivery. The role requires maintaining knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, and ensuring staff compliance. Safety and infection control standards are paramount. The Lead RN will utilize the nursing process for ongoing patient care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, and will respond to changes in patient status. Responsibilities include determining care priorities, providing triage and consultation, preparing patients for exams, performing laboratory procedures, and assisting physicians with procedures. Medication administration, IV therapy, and patient education are also key duties. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
