About The Position

We build infrastructure that delivers massive amounts of web data to the companies training the world’s most powerful AI models. We're the team that helps to power and support Grass, a bandwidth-sharing network that lets us operate a massive distributed crawler, giving us unique access to high-quality public web data at global scale. On top of that, we’ve built pipelines for ingesting, segmenting, and annotating billions of videos, transcripts, and audio files, powering dataset creation for frontier labs. We’re lean, technical, and move fast. No red tape, no slow decision-making; just a team of builders pushing to expand what’s possible for open web data and AI. As the first dedicated recruiting hire, you will be powering the talent engine for Wynd Labs. This is a hands-on role, finding "unfindable" talent who understand the nuances of the AI ecosystem and the data needs for the AI age. We are looking for a seasoned recruiter who views recruiting as a high-stakes engineering problem. You will serve as the strategic partner to our founders and leadership, building a talent density that identifies and brings onboard that top 1% of world-class people.

Requirements

  • 4+ Years of Technical Recruiting Experience: Ideally with a focus on AI, Machine Learning, or Data Infrastructure.
  • The Startup Mindset: You thrive in ambiguity and understand the urgency of Series A hiring. You are a "builder," not just a "user" of existing systems.
  • Technical Literacy: You can distinguish between an ML Engineer, Data Engineer, and Software Engineer, and can fluently discuss the current landscape of LLMs and data curation.
  • Navigate Ambiguity: No one is going to tell you how to be successful. You must be comfortable with problem-solving, asking questions, and building a network.
  • Data-Driven Approach: You use metrics to track pipeline health, conversion rates, and time-to-hire, using these insights to pivot strategies quickly.
  • High EQ & Negotiation Skills: You are an expert at "selling" a vision and can navigate complex compensation/equity conversations with senior-level candidates.

  • A deep interest in Tech and AI.
  • Experience with modern ATS platforms (we use Ashby) and sourcing tools (Juicebox Gem, TopFunnel).

Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Execution: Especially in the early days, you will work as a team of one. You will manage the high-touch, full-cycle recruitment of employees, ensuring every candidate experience is world-class.
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate directly with the Founders and senior team members to define job descriptions, refine personas, and calibrate roles in a fast-moving environment.
  • Sourcing Innovation: Beyond LinkedIn—you will need to use creative sourcing approaches and strategies to find talent capable of building complex data pipelines and AI-driven products
  • Employer Branding: In a competitive AI market, help the world learn about Wynd Labs. From the first screening call to finding new Online outlets, you’ll be telling our story
  • Global. We already have team members from 15+ nationalities. This role requires working across time zones to find the best in the world.
