This position is for a Lead Radiology Tech in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The role involves assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias. The technician will function in the roles of scrub assistant, monitor, and circulator, and will operate various equipment utilized in the cath lab. This role also includes serving as a technical resource to other technicians, providing leadership and guidance, preparing staff work schedules, coordinating employee time off, and planning/coordinating orientation. The technician will admit and orient patients, enter patient information into databases and systems, and explain procedures to patients and their families. Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile field, monitoring patient vital signs and procedural documentation, operating EKG, x-ray, and hemodynamic equipment, and intervening appropriately to changes in patient status. The role also involves running blood oximetry, assisting with diagnostic and mapping systems, and operating various cath lab equipment safely and effectively. The technician must observe occupational and radiation safety regulations and demonstrate a commitment to continued professional growth.
