Job Summary: Supervises the department's patient flow, performs general medical procedures and assists physicians. Dispenses durable goods and provides after-care instructions in accordance with established protocols and procedures. Supervises x-ray technicians with limited licenses. Assists department director with day-to-day management and supervision. Acts as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in radiological technology: Required
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA and HI
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
  • Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA within 6 months of hire
  • Fluoroscopy (FLUORO): Required

Nice To Haves

  • Five years' technical experience: Preferred
  • Two years' leadership experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the department's patient flow, performs general medical procedures and assists physicians.
  • Dispenses durable goods and provides after-care instructions in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Supervises x-ray technicians with limited licenses.
  • Assists department director with day-to-day management and supervision.
  • Acts as an expert clinician who demonstrates a high level of knowledge/expertise, and is a leader/resource to the healthcare team.
  • Performs radiographic procedures in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Performs special medical screenings, including audiometry, spirometry, breath alcohol testing, urine drug testing and phlebotomy.
  • Supervises direct reports and assists with day-to-day staffing management.
  • Trains, supervises and mentors outpatient imaging personnel.
  • Manages staff scheduling as needed.
  • Continually monitors for and implements performance improvement opportunities.
  • Establishes sterile barriers and sets up specialty instruments, supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Ensures proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, updating and documenting records as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate supply inventory.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
