About The Position

Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) offers a variety of cancer treatment options including radiation oncology. Radiation therapy, or radiation oncology, is quicker, safer and more precise than ever before. Radiation oncologists at CCCN use the most advanced treatment planning systems and state-of-the-art radiation technology to deliver internal and external radiation that helps prevent cancerous cells from growing or dividing and potentially eliminates them. Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Radiation Therapist in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful health care organization.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program.
• Minimum five years actively practicing as an RTT.
• ARRT certification required.
• Valid state license for radiation therapy required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training designated employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and rewarding and disciplining employees.
• Serves as mentor to employees in radiation oncology department.
• Responsible for the instruction of newly hired radiation staff and radiation therapy students on all equipment applicable.
• Maintains patient appointment schedule and submits correct billing information.
• Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist.
• May assist in chart audits and QA procedures.
• May participate in development of QA procedures.
• Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
• Accurately cuts blocks and makes custom molds.
• Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into the electronic medical record.
• Accurately completes simple mu calculation.
• May review and amend patient billing for accuracy.
