As a Lead Quality Specialist in Quality Control Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and executing quality control initiatives, ensuring product and process compliance with GE’s rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role will follow quality systems within the engineering and manufacturing environments. In this role, you will focus on performing tests (e.g. Nondestructive Testing) and defining controls (e.g. Statistical Process Control) and ensuring correct alignment with quality requirements. You will be responsible for verification and checking to ensure manufactured or procured products meet specified standards before they progress to next phase of production or customer delivery. Your knowledge of best practices and how quality integrates across the business, as well as your awareness of the competition and market differentiators will support your success in the role. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university OR a High School Diploma + 4 years of NDT quality, compliance or similar experience
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of NDT quality, compliance or similar experience

Nice To Haves

  • Level II Nondestructive Testing (NDT) certification with demonstrated potential and willingness to progress toward Level III NDT qualification within 18 months.
  • Experience in radiographic (X-ray) inspection, including conventional film radiography; experience with or aptitude to transition into digital radiography (specifically CR) is preferred
  • Digital Radiography (CR) certification preferred.
  • Experience performing Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) in an industrial or aerospace environment.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements, with recognition of their importance in final inspection and acceptance activities.
  • Proven experience leading quality projects and initiatives, including CAPA, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA), and other quality tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, complex environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience with GE Aerospace products or similar industrial equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide QC set-up and support in tendering and execution phases of Engineering Procure Construct.
  • Oversee fulfillment of contractual and regulatory requirements to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Capture lessons learned to continually improve execution processes.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
  • Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
  • Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems.
  • Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis.
  • Uses technical experience and analytical thinking.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
