The Lead Inspector's responsibility is to test items, identify and document defects, analyze products, and return defect products to adhere to client’s requirements and industry standards. This role oversees the internal inspection process to assure compliance with purchase order requirements utilizing AIT systems & processes. The Lead Inspector performs inspections using precision measurement equipment/devices and verifies measurements on the line, or when applicable, brings a part to a separate temperature-controlled room for analysis. They help to create more efficient workflows and streamline the inspection process, inspecting parts on a FIFO basis unless urgent inspections are required. This role works alongside the production force to build quality-in at the source. Additionally, the Lead Inspector coordinates calibration/re-calibration activities and maintains records of tools, instruments, and gauges. They reject non-compliant products, perform quality assessments on incoming and outgoing materials, measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and ensure proper operation of measurement equipment. The Lead Inspector reports non-conformities, develops quality data packages for customers, and performs other duties as assigned.
