This is a 2nd Shift Position. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The Lead Quality Inspector assists the Operational Quality Manager in coordinating and executing objectives throughout the company to maximize product quality and operating system efficiency/effectiveness to minimize costs. This role directs and coordinates the activities of Quality Inspectors engaged in the evaluation of goods, performs all the functional duties and responsibilities of the Quality Inspector, and plans and establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. The position involves reading and analyzing charts, work orders, and other records to determine resource requirements, reviewing data and documentation for accuracy, and analyzing statistical data to determine the adequacy of present standards and establish quality plans. The Lead Quality Inspector also assists in the oversight of nonconforming product, ensures in-process and start-up requirements are met, prepares quality and safety reports, consults with management on work-related issues, observes work performed by Quality Inspectors, and participates in investigations regarding customer complaints. Problem-solving techniques are utilized to reduce failures, and training is provided as needed for the QC department. The role executes specific responsibilities within the company quality system, supports company policies including FDA regulatory and ISO requirements, Health and Safety Requirements, and Continuous Improvement initiatives, and coaches and mentors employees to ensure performance expectations are met. Feedback and performance information is provided to Quality Managers to assist in performance reviews. Other duties may be assigned.
