Based in the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) facility, the Lead Quality Inspector will report to the Quality Supervisor. A Lead Quality Inspector will be responsible for overseeing activities associated with manufacturing and production of products to meet production and customer requirements. The Lead Quality Inspector will assist the Quality Supervisor in planning, organizing, controlling and directing daily and weekly operations to ensure production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner and meets all safety and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Office applications skills (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Due to the safety sensitive nature of this position successful candidates will undergo pre-employment substance abuse and medical testing upon hire.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for any employer.

  • Previous experience leading a team is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sets the example for team members on expectations, accountability and attitude.
  • Balances workload and assigns work to team members on a day-to-day basis to support work team and departmental objectives.
  • Balances and assigns work team priorities to best achieve production and customer satisfaction objectives.
  • Organizes, prioritizes, and monitors day-to-day tasks.
  • Schedules on-the-job training for work team members.
  • Leads and participates in process improvement initiatives as required for work team.
  • Monitors work activities to ensure safety practices, policies and procedures are followed.
  • Participate in safety program activities (e.g. safety committee, safety meetings).
  • Actively participate in employee meetings, as required (e.g. tool box meetings, etc.).
  • Ensure all products are meeting quality expectations.
  • Write Hold for Dispositions (HFDs).
  • Work closely with employees and/other departments to resolve production problems.
  • Communicate with the Engineering department regarding drawings and blueprints.
  • Oversee the training plan for new hires and communicate progress to Manufacturing Supervisor.
  • Provide performance feedback as required.
  • Complete daily time data entry accurately and on time.
  • Lead special projects (i.e. - communicate, assign tasks; monitor progress, provide status updates).
  • Manage department supplies.
  • Other duties as required.
