The Lead QC Mammography Technologist has responsibility for all individual tasks within the quality assurance program not assigned to the lead interpreting physician or the medical physicist. The tasks are to be performed by the quality control technologist or by other designated personnel qualified to perform the tasks. When other personnel are utilized for these tasks, the quality control technologist shall ensure that the tasks are completed in such a way as to meet the requirements by state and federal regulations. In addition, the Lead QC is responsible for the mammography services operations including education and training of colleagues, patient and colleague scheduling, problem solving and trouble shooting. In addition to QC duties, the Lead QC Technologist performs routine and diagnostic mammography exams as ordered by primary care physicians using proper technique and professional interpersonal skills. This individual is expected to follow, uphold, and have input into establishing protocols, standards, and practices. Flexibility in colleague and patient scheduling is required. This individual will uphold the mission and values of InterMed and participate in performance improvement activities.
